Knights of Columbus

Knights of ColumbusFounded by Fr. Michael J. McGivney, a parish priest in New Haven, Conn., in 1882. The Knights of Columbus have always worked hard to encourage young men and women to consider God’s call to service in the priesthood or religious life.

Under the motto "Keep the Faith Alive," the Order’s vocations initiative has a number of programs based on prayer and are designed to reach the hearts and minds of young people, as  well as to provide financial support during their years of seminary training or religious formation.

The Knights of Columbus of the State of Iowa as well as local councils generously fund the Annual State of Iowa Seminarians Convocation, the spring and fall "Thinking of Priesthood" Discernment days, the "Recently Ordained Priest Convocation" and many more programs that promote and support vocations in the Diocese of Sioux City.
